- KING SOLOMON #5 BLAST - - May 24, 2017 -
Not very much for this week.
The food bank continues to be a success, but more Brothers are needed to help out.
This past Monday we held our second 1st Degree for the month. We had 28 Brothers present and it was gratifying to see almost every chair filled on the sidelines. We will keep you posted for the dates of the 2nd Degrees coming up and we could be doing some more 1st Degrees in the near future so stay tuned.
Now for a couple of BROKEN RECORDS:
First, Officer Elections are rapidly approaching so it's time to think about who you want to lead King Solomon #5 next year.
Second, we are doing very good on getting our overdue membership dues sent it. We are down to just 5 Brothers who have not yet paid their 2017 dues and that's down from almost a dozen. For those of you who have yet to send in your checks, please contact your Secretary if there is some reason you can't make the payment. We have programs and options that might help you out so you are not suspended at the July Stated.
Finally, there is the fact that this year we will NOT be represented at Grand Lodge in June due to nobody stepping up to attend. But, it is still not too late. If you can possibly do this, let your Secretary know right away so we can call a special meeting to elect a representative. Grand Lodge has offered us an exception to sending in the paperwork immediately with the Lodges seal and that is to allow us to email it to them. If you can do this, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or call me at 520-678-9088. Don't let us be THAT lodge who has nobody there.
Sorry about all the soap box stuff. Have a great week as the weather is looking fantastic.

- KING SOLOMON 5- Degree Rehearsal May 8th, 2017 - 7 PM
We have a degree rehearsal this coming Monday, May 8th, 7 PM at Schieffelin Hall. There is no scheduled dinner but I'm planning on heading to Puny John's about 6 PM.
This rehearsal is for both EA degrees occurring on 15 and 22 May. I still need to confirm the Chaplain for both days (Al ???) . Other then that I believe the Trestle Board is filled. Listed below (in no specific order) are all the members that have committed to some part in the events and hopefully we can have a great rehearsal and put on a top-notch performance for our upcoming brothers!
Ed Kelly, Kenn Barrett, Ben Headen, Tim Jentes, Joe Steward, Raleigh Crogan, Chris Douglas, Greg King, Tom Jones, Andy Anderson, Pete Giese, Phillip Shulsky
If you would like to help, please join us at the rehearsal. If you are on my list and unable to help please let me know ASAP so I have time to find a replacement. If you are still wanting a part but unable to attend the rehearsal please let me know as well. And last, if you are going to be at the rehearsal, thank you and see you there!
- Earth Day - April 22, 2017 - Annual Clean -Up Tombstone City Cemetery
Cemetery Clean-Up: A small, but earnest group of Brothers, assembled in the Masonic Section of the Tombstone Cemetery to celebrate Earth Day 2017. There was no discussion or debate of global warming or climate change, just the heartfelt sound intense labor. Our thanks to WB Art Montgomery, Brother Paul Weishaupt, Brother Gene Bull and WB Pete Giese for their hard work in the hot desert sun. WB Andy Anderson was excused because of a last minute emergency. The mission was successful.
